Bending genres, blurring seams
Fort Capulet initially started working on a debut album in 2019, but struggled with deciding on a genre. After listening to Metal, Punk and Emo for basically all his life, songwriter Cedric found himself drawn to more simplistic genres as well, eventually discarding all genre limitations and creating an individual blend of everything imaginable.
From intimate acoustic riffs, over stadium-filling drums, to screeching guitar solos, Fort Capulet’s vocals may jump from sweet innocence to excruciating pain before the verse is over.

…from ashes
Being the face behind Fort Capulet, Cedric has a lengthy personal history with music. After his first ventures into Rock and Metal, he first picked up a guitar back in 2006, feeling inspired by bands like Metallica and Linkin Park. Teaching himself several other instruments along the way, his endeavours led him to joining a Punk-Band in 2020 that tragically split-up after 4 years of being a creative outlet for Cedric.
Finding himself lost and hopeless, he struggled with realizing his artistic ideas without a backline of other musicians, almost quitting music altogether.
Fort Capulet is his way of expressing emotion in his own right. Playing, recording and mixing all instruments himself, he relies on self-produced backing tracks and guest musicians when playing live - or switching to an unplugged set, if the vibe demands it.
